Just Stuff

This'll be a catchall for whatever grabs my interest at the time. Therefore it'll be rather... eclectic.

Protip: This is a really bad question to ask when visiting the National Mall. We have 8 buildings surrounding the Mall, and a total of 19 museums, 9 research centers and the National Zoo. A S.H.I.E.L.D agent should know better!

(We think she means the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in this case.)

I love that this is on the Smithsonian’s tumblr

#i was about to get annoyed about someone taking this too seriously but then i saw who posted it

Asker Anonymous Asks:
Do you know if there's a way to exclude fanfics with certain tags in Ao3's search? Like if I'm searching for fics of a certain pairing but want to exclude fics with the Alpha/Beta/Omega Dynamics tag from my search results. Is that possible?
erindizmo erindizmo Said:

You can! It’s not necessarily as foolproof with the Additional Tags as it is with fandoms, characters, or relationships, as there are ways to be a bit more thorough with those, but you can do at least a pretty decent job by doing this in the filters from your pairing’s page:

Not foolproof because it’s a straight string search, so if someone’s tagged with a synonym of the tag, like “Omegaverse”, instead of with the canonical, then it won’t remove the work in question, but it should at least get rid of most of them.

(Also! You can get more filtering tips over at filter-me-ao3. It’s unofficial, but I run it, so you get the same brand of what I distinctly hope is helpfulness.)

Can the shipping name for Coulson and the Cellist please be Philharmonic?

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS. How have I never, ever seen this before?!

(hat tip to bethbethbeth01 for pointing this out!)

Seriously, the degree to which I could go back in time, walk up to him, look him in the eye, and just say, “You are going to have a really awesome life, kid,” is huge.

And that still carries weight!
